Personal Update

This post is to pinpoint a moment in time in which I am stuck on continuing the cakelandish project. It is not by any means cancelled, however I am reliant on factors outside my control to continue reasonably.

The server framework is the primary issue for the project, and Oak for Deno has been quite unreliable in availability and not crashing, with no way to diagnose the issue; the failures appear to be silent. Thus I started my journey into using Deno's npm and node translation features to replace it with the Koa framework, which is what Oak is inspired by. In fact, right now I'm running the Koa version of cakelandish, yet to be released, and am testing it for availability. But now there have been issues with however Deno translates Node code. Also, I am not convinced that any current web frameworks in Deno are suitable for this project.

I actually have multiple pieces of art to upload but there is a current issue with file uploading corruption and crashing that is preventing me from completing a post. I would rather not continue forward with the Koa replacement if these issues are going to happen, but on the other hand the current situation with Oak is not great either. Which path should I reasonably expect to be the better choice? I did not expect such complications with third party libraries, but to perform the fixes myself is just not feasible. And so I wait. Also, Nitter has been incapable of reproducing RSS files from twitter feeds, so now all my twitter feeds are dead. Truly a sad moment in the internet's history. I'll be stockpiling content to post until I can make progress again.
